Conference Objectives/Goals


  • To inspire youth to believe that they can make a difference for themselves and be able to achieve success in higher education and career choice.
  • To encourage youth to believe in themselves as ambassadors for change in their homes, their communities and society as a whole.
  • To challenge youth to identify and engage in activities for change in both personal life and in society.
  • To ensure that youth are developing their talents and skills in leadership so they may take charge of their own health and educational success.
  • To expose participants to Native culture and history.
  • To have a fun and impactful event.

Students in Grades 7 – 12, Parents, Teachers/Administrators, Program Facilitators

Students are encouraged to complete the Student "Take Charge!" Learning Agreement with their teachers.
